Jones Street takes its name from Major John Jones, aide-de-camp to General Lachlan McIntosh at the 1779 siege of Savannah. It runs just over a mile, from West Boundary Street to East Broad, near the heart of the Historic District. At Bull Street the name divides, becoming East Jones and West Jones.
