HOK Sport designed this 8,355-seat arena on the University of Tulsa campus, opened in 1998 and named for Donald W. Reynolds. Designed by HOK Sport, now known as Populous Co., this building opened in 1998 and carries the name of Donald W. Reynolds. It is home to the Golden Hurricane basketball and volleyball teams, and you can imagine the energy stored in its bowl from decades of competition.
The first basketball game here was played on December 29, 1998, when Tulsa faced the Cleveland State Vikings; Tulsa won 79–51 in front of a sellout crowd. That inaugural stretch proved electric: the Hurricane sold out six of the next seven games and went 7–1 in their first season at the Reynolds Center. Over 14 seasons through 2012–2013, Tulsa compiled a 182–53 record here, a .774 winning percentage, and the arena has hosted 41 sellout crowds.
In its first season the team averaged 8,282 fans across eight games, and the next-highest home average came in 2002–2003, when Tulsa drew 8,250 fans for 14 regular season home games.
