Along the Hillsborough River runs the Tampa Riverwalk, a 2.6-mile-long open space and pedestrian trail. The path stretches along most of the downtown Tampa waterfront from the Channelside District at the eastern terminus to the mouth of the Hillsborough River, then turns north along the riverside to Tampa Heights, forming a continuous route that links parks, attractions, public spaces, and hotels. As you look, you are beside landmarks named along this very walk: the Tampa Bay History Center, Benchmark International Arena, the Tampa Convention Center, Rivergate Tower, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, and Water Works Park.
Nearby is the Waterfront Arts District, home to the Tampa Museum of Art, the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, the Glazer Children's Museum, and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
