MacArthur Park holds the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, formerly known as the Arkansas Arts Center, here in Little Rock, Arkansas. The building you see includes a most recent expansion and renovation designed by Studio Gang. Inside, the museum offers a permanent collection of art alongside occasional special exhibitions; it also houses a research library and rooms for several art education classes.
You’ll find a restaurant and a gift shop, and many spaces — including the main atrium and the lecture hall — are available for special events. The museum is a member of the North American Reciprocal Museum Association, and in 2011 Arkansas.com named it one of the top 10 attractions in the state. The heart of the collection is drawings — which the museum defines as any unique work on paper — and contemporary craft objects.
