Galbreath, an Ohio philanthropist, builder, Kentucky Derby breeder and owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1945 to 1985. In front of you the Scioto Mile Fountain presents its unique lighting and fog effects; it is interactive and accessible to people of all ages, a playful centerpiece for visitors.
Nearby is Milestone 229, a restaurant with a dining terrace that offers a panoramic view of the Scioto Mile and the downtown Columbus skyline — its rooftop solar panels help power both the restaurant and the fountain, and it is open daily for lunch and dinner. To one side the Performing Arts Pavilion sits as a permanent stage, hosting dance recitals, shows and other community events presented by the Recreation and Parks Department.
