Hockey rinks, a restaurant and the 1909 Wheeler grain elevator make up Buffalo RiverWorks, the riverside venue in front of you. The property incorporates the original Wheeler grain elevator that was built in 1909, a reminder of the industrial pulse that once drove this waterfront. As you take it in, notice that the site also features two open-air hockey rinks — part of why it has hosted the Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournament since 2014 and the Queen City Roller Derby since 2016.
In 2017 it was home to the Buffalo Blitz of the Can-Am Indoor Football League, and from 2017 to 2021 it hosted the annual music festival and wrestling event TID The Season, promoted by Every Time I Die — the 2021 edition included Every Time I Die’s final performances before their breakup. The Buffalo Beauts hosted the Buffalo Believes Classic here from 2019 to 2022, and Better Lovers has promoted Blissmas at the venue since 2024.
