Braniff Airlines kept its first office in the Braniff Building, a ten-story landmark at 324 North Robinson Street built in 1923. Designed by Solomon Andrew Layton and built in 1923, this was the first office for Braniff Airlines, a hometown address that carried aviation history into the city’s skyline. The building’s significance has been recognized by its listing on the National Register of Historic Places, NRHP #80003281.
In 1964 the Braniff signage was removed after the property was purchased by Kerr-McGee Oil Company, and later the building endured damage in the Oklahoma City bombing. It sat empty for 30 years until SandRidge Energy purchased and renovated the structure, and it changed hands again in 2016 when it sold for $15.9 million. Today the Braniff Building is home to Kitchen No. 324 and the law firm Crowe Dunlevy, where commerce and hospitality occupy those historic floors.
