Just east of Civic Center Music Hall, Bicentennial Park gives Oklahoma City a compact green space framed by Couch Drive, Colcord Drive and Walker Avenue. Feel the city's rhythm here, in a compact green place defined by streets: Couch Drive to the north, Colcord Drive to the south and Walker Avenue to the east. Around you are the park's public artworks: the Bicentennial Monument and two figural pieces titled Run of 1889 and The Conductor are installed in the park, and they anchor the landscape with civic memory.
Take note that the statue of Stanley Draper used to stand here; it was later relocated outside City Hall, leaving a visible history of change. This lawn has been a stage for gatherings and celebrations. In 2016, following the election of Donald Trump, approximately 100 people gathered here for the "Nonviolent Protest of Trump and a Rally for Peace and Love".
The Festival of the Arts has been held in the park, and the music event "Wiggle Out Loud" has filled this space with sound. Picture the hundred people who gathered here for peace in 2016, one layer beneath the Festival of the Arts and Wiggle Out Loud.
