Grauman's Chinese Theatre was built in 1927, the most famous movie palace in the world. The forecourt — where celebrities have been pressing their hands, feet, and various body parts into wet cement since 1927 — contains more than 200 celebrity impressions, from Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks (who started the tradition) to modern stars. Find a set of prints that interests you and crouch down to compare your hands with someone famous. The Hollywood Walk of Fame extends along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in both directions from here — more than 2,700 five-pointed terrazzo stars set into the sidewalk, honoring performers in film, television, radio, music, and theater.
